What do you need from training?

Our up-to-date training covers all legislation and recent guidance updates, how to put them into practice and improve the care you provide. Learning alongside carers from other homes allows carers to share their ideas and best practice. But not everyone can attend our courses in Cheltenham. If this is the case for you, our trainers can come to your home – which saves you and your staff a lot of travelling time – and adapt the training to suit the unique needs of your setting. This is ideal if you’re looking to train a large number of people.

Courses we offer

We know many care workers groan and roll their eyes when they’re told its training time. Going back into a learning environment can be daunting for some and hellishly boring for others.

We’re no different.

Becoming friends and trusted colleagues on your journey in creating the ripple of change in care involves designing courses that are enjoyable and fun – while maintaining a firm focus on the person in your care.

Because people are at the heart of everything you do, you’ll find all the training that your staff need to become great carers with us. Everything from manual handling to medication, first aid, peg feeding, fire, risk assessment and infection control.

All of our standard course content can be adapted to suit the layout of your home. And if there’s a specific area you’d like us to cover, or add, talk with us about running a closed course for your team – and let us train them to your policies and unique needs.

E-learning vs Face-to-Face

Have you started to use e-learning training but some of the other managers you know still use face to face as well?

E-learning has its place and a lot of people engage with it really well. But many others struggle either with the technology or the method of learning.

Face to face training allows people to share their knowledge and experiences, offers additional support for learning difficulties i.e. dyslexia, dyspraxia and learning styles.

Many care home owners prefer to opt for low cost e-learning. But face to face training not only benefits the person in the room, but also the person they assist and the care setting they work in.
