Course background:

A half day course led by a registered nurse who mixes theory and practice to cover all you need to know to support an individual with diabetes, including medication, insulin and blood sugar monitoring.

This course supports:

KLOE Questions: S3, E1, E2, E4, C1, C3, C4, R1, W1 & W2. Fundamental Standard: Staffing
SfC recommend refresher period: Specific conditions – 3 yearly or when a new need is identified.

Course aims:

Aimed at those working with or who are responsible for the welfare and wellbeing of people with diabetes this course combines a mixture of theory and practical.  The trainer is a registered and practising nurse and holds the ENB 928 in diabetes which ensures correct knowledge and competence to carry out an observation of work place staff administrating insulin to a client, as in line with the NMC Code of Conduct (practice effectively 9.4)

Delegates who attend the course will have the opportunity to carry out real injection practice through the use of training injection pads.
