The term ‘you’ refers to the user or the party contracting with Independent Training for the courses and events. By booking any course, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Booking course or events:

Booking for our courses can be made either directly in person, through email or by telephone.For on–line bookings please select the course required and click on the book online button and follow the instructions. Once your booking is complete you will be sent a confirmation email with course information & an invoice.

Payment terms:

Payment is due 7 days prior to the course date, for bookings made after this date payment is expected on booking. For in-house training full payment is due 7 days before the course date. Payments can be made by:

i) Direct payment to the following bank account.  Please use the invoice number as a reference

ii) We can also accept cheque or cash payments

Description of Pricing of courses:

We make every effort to ensure the prices are listed correctly, please see the price list for all courses on the website at independent-training.co.uk . Independent Training will advertise price changes with a minimum of 30 days’ notice only through list of courses contained on its website

Amendments:

Change of candidate is permissible up to the commencement of course.  Please advise us immediately of changes. Independent Training may charge a small admin fee for additional booking confirmations to be sent out if this is required.

Cancellations:

If you need to cancel your place the following cancellation procedure applies;

  • More than 14 working days before the course – Full refund or credit note
  • Less than 14 working days before the course – No refund/full feel payable

Any cancellation for a booking taken within the 14-day period that is confirmed and agreed by both parties and then cancelled, will also incur the full cost of the course being charged. Cancellation requests must be made through email so an audit trail is available.

Transfers to a subsequent course can be made without penalty if made more than 14 days prior to the event.

Courses will only run if there are sufficient candidates. A refund will be paid if a course is not viable because of insufficient numbers. Refunds for other reasons are only granted in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of Independent Training.

On-site courses:

Course bookings will be confirmed with the company.  All Invoices must be settled within 7 days before the training date. Cancellation charges as above will be applied. Certificates maybe withheld until full payment is received. You must agree to provide a suitable training environment for safe working which complies with current Health and Safety Legislation.

Weather conditions:

When we experience freak weather conditions beyond our control then the course will be cancelled and rescheduled for a later date. If the new date is not convenient then a full refund will be issued. We will display on our website any closures so please check this before travelling.

Issue of certificates:

All course certificates will be supplied within 7 days of the course date providing full payment has been received in line with our terms and conditions.

VAT:

Prices quoted are exclusive of VAT which will be shown separately on the invoice

Booking Instructions:

Venue details, start times and course information are sent to the course booker at least 7 days before the event. For multiple bookings please ensure the information is passed to the relevant candidates.

Arrival Time:

Please ensure candidates arrive promptly for registration prior to the course start time. If a candidate arrives later than 15 minutes after the start of the course then entrance to the course may be refused and no refund will be issued.

Access to Training & Assessment:

Independent Training is committed to equal opportunity and freedom from discrimination. Requests or reasonable adjustments to courses/assessments by individuals with specific needs will be considered providing Independent Training are informed prior to the course. As in line with CQC standards “workers must have a good level of English” we can refuse entry to a course.

Parking:

Street parking is available at the venue with permit zones that are free for up to four hours. In the surrounding roads it is 50p per hour.

Refreshments:

We have a microwave and chilled facilities if you wish to bring your own food. There are also local shops within a 5 minute walk of our premises and a food delivery van that operates in the area.

Hand outs:

In our responsibility to protect the environment we do not issue paper based hand outs but on request we will send out electronic copies.

Advice & Guidance

At Independent Training advice and guidance is available to all current learners and anyone considering coming to study at the Centre as well as employers, parents and guardians.

Information Services available include:

  • Advice on meeting national minimum training standards
  • Progression opportunities within the industry
  • Tutorial support
  • Funding entitlements
  • Signposting you to relevant services if we are not successful in supporting you with your queries.

Complaints Procedure:

The complaints procedure is available to learners who may wish to challenge any aspect of the IT centre function. The following are examples of issues for complaint:

  • Access to assessment
  • Process of assessment
  • Access to internal verification
  • Handling of an appeal
  • Inequality of opportunity

The complaint must be made either verbally in person or in writing to the Q.A.C. within 14 days of the issue arising.

Confidentiality:

As a training provider we work with Government, Local Authorities and awarding bodies. We are required to collect personal information in order to claim funding or for awarding bodies to register learners to enable them to carry out quality checks to get certificates awarded. We will not knowingly share information with any third party without your permission unless required by law. All personal details are kept in line with the Date Protection Act 1998.

Behaviour/Conduct:

At Independent Training we welcome constructive feedback on all our courses and encourage learners to actively engage with the trainers on the information being shared. This constructive feedback needs to be appropriate, timely and in accordance with the course being delivered.

Any criticism or challenges should be saved till the end of the course so as not to cause negativity within the group. Inappropriate challenges or negativity will be treated as disruptive behaviour and learners will be asked to leave the course

We use digital technology and a blended learning approach for all our courses. We recommend that learners bring tablets, phones or laptops to enhance their learning on all courses.
